I was a volunteer in the fight to save the City of West Covina.

Watch WCCC 2022 Candidate Forum

The majority of the residents who made the time to vote in voting district 5 decided to vote for Tony Wu.

Thank you very much to my family and all my supporters. I apologize that all our hard work did not result in a win and a change in the interest and the activity of our City's Leadership; in particular for the very vulnerable area south of the former Municipal Landfill/BKK Dual Dump.

The West Covina City Council is primarily a volunteer position of trust.

WCCC Members are allowed a stipend, not a cost of living salary. The City is bankrupt because corrupted Councilmembers and City Officials, for decades and currently, convert Taxpayer Dollars and resources into political and or personal gain!

I am very concerned that Wu appears to control the W.C. City Hall which is contrary to how a five member government board is suppose to function. I know him to be a very conniving person. Additionally, he is a Real Estate Broker and one of the greedy consultants to local Land Developers and City Contractors. He is also a wealthy Real Estate Salesman and all that that entails!

(with his office in Temple City), lives in South Hills and is a person that has a history of being disconnected from the truth!

Every City of West Covina resident should ask themselves what do I know about him (Tony Tonghuai Wu)  and can I trust him to protect my best interest?

Politics impacts everyone; so, get involved and impact politics! Even if you are not a citizen, rent and or live south of the closed City Dump. Dispite living in a small home, patio home, town home, condominium, duplex, ADU, apartment complex or mobile home park get involved and vote! Please, everyone register to vote as soon as eligible. In California you can preregister at 16, and start voting when 18 years of age. Formaly convicted felons can register and vote and the incarcerated can vote by U.S. Mail (from their jail cell).

My former key Campaign Endorsements: L.A. County B.O.S. Hilda L. Solis, L.A. County Democratic Party, Teamsters Local 396, Ironworkers Local 433, L.A. County Fed. COPE (AFL-CIO), Laborers Local 300, Brian Tabatabai - Current West Covina City Councilmember, James Toma, Forest Tennant and Richard Melendez - Former Mayors For City of West Covina, Drexel Smith - Former Mayor City of Walnut. Community Leaders: Angie Gillingham, Peggy Martinez, Terry Cozard, Joe Rodriguez and Jhermi Salazar.

"I am always working to ensure that everyone in my universe is aware of how all politics is local and we must eliminate our apathy.

Locality starts with us, me, you, your family and your neighbors and all of us being involved. We should learn about our City Council, School Districts, Community College and Water Boards, L.A. County Board of Supervisors, Superior Court Judges, State Assembly, State Senate, U.S. Senators, House of Representatives, U.S. President and their Vice President(s). The more people, the easier it will be to learn about our Government Officials and  ensure that our tax dollars are working for us. A good way to start is by forming a neighborhood Watch Group on your street or a Joint Neighborhood Watch with your adjacent unincorporated and established jurisdictions. Please learn more about our City Councilmembers and work to get better representation at the WCCC and then expand all the way to the U.S. Capital! FS

gov people focused, only possible With our participation!

The Health and Safety of our Community is the most important job of local government; but more people must vote, be aware and involved to make this the primary priority at City Hall!

  1. Public Safety, Crime Prevention, School Safety and Traffic Safety is priority #1 for me; focus on having enough Officers to protect and serve 110,000 residents, with seven different school districts, our businesses and our visitors. And, we must integrate the most advanced technology and training to facilitate maximum safety and security!
  2. Homelessness eliminated with dignity and handle it as a Public Safety and Public Health Problem! Homelessness facilitates loitering and petty crimes, negatively impacts wholesomeness, vehicle and pedestrian movement, fire hazards due to continous littering, camping in all types of public places; combined with a generally unhealthy lifestyle that attracts disease and vermin. The negative aesthetics in turn decreases the number of people who feel safe and want to visit, shop, work and recreate in our community.
  3. Restoring our lost City Services and the institutional knowledge of our City. Taking better care of our Senior Citizens.
  4. Rebuilding City facilities/buildings, streets and sidewalks.
  5. Restoring Trust and Transparency at City Hall.
  6. Eliminate any and all wasteful spending, fraud corruption and hostile work environment.
  7. Implement background checks on all City of West Covina Elected and Appointed City Officials. And, none should have an alias or fictitious name as a candidate for office and or while in the service of the City of West Covina.
  8. Establish a West Covina Government Internship program to develop future government staffing and officials from within our City.
  9. To assist our understaffed Public Safety Departments, we need to work with Community Service Organizations and Neighborhood Watch Groups to train able bodied civilians as  "First Responders For Emergencies and Disasters" (F.R.E.D.). Establish a Victims of Major Incident Program; thereby helping victims with recovery and all-inclusive services.
  10. To deal with the ongoing underrepresentation of the residents who live south of Francisquito Avenue, and that is the majority of the City at more than 35,000 people!
